The name of former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has been stripped from the Obio/Akpor Local Government Council administrative block and replaced with Dr. Obi Wali’s, as directed by Chairman Chijioke Ihunwo.
The building has now been renamed in honour of the late Senator Wali, a prominent Ikwerre leader, politician, and renowned minority rights advocate.
The development followed a directive by the new Chairman of the Council, Chijioke Ihunwo after he successfully took over the council secretariat on October 7 when crisis rocked some council secretariats in Rivers State.
