Napoli have agreed to loan Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen to Galatasaray, just days after his proposed move to Chelsea collapsed. Osimhen, who was close to joining the Premier League side on deadline day, is now set to join the Turkish club on a dry loan deal.
According to Napoli’s Sport Director, Giovanni Manna, “We are close to an agreement” with Galatasaray. The deal is reportedly a straight loan without an option to buy, with Galatasaray covering Osimhen’s full salary of nearly €11m per season.
Representatives from Galatasaray are expected in Naples tonight to finalize the paperwork and complete the deal. Manna confirmed the talks with Galatasaray, saying, “It is correct to say we are in talks and we are close to an agreement.”
Osimhen is believed to be enthusiastic about the move, preferring to play for Galatasaray rather than sitting out until the January transfer window. Napoli had made it clear that Osimhen would not be welcomed back into the squad after he expressed his desire to leave the team months ago.
