Crisis has erupted in Rivers State as LGA chairmen have vowed to stay in office after the expiration of their tenure.

The chairmen have said Governor Simi Fubara has no constitutional right to direct administrative heads to take charge of LGAs.

On the early hours of Tuesday, youths of Ijaw extraction took over the council headquarters of Port Harcourt Local Government Area in Rivers State.

It was gathered that they were seated around multiple canopies, chanting solidarity songs for Governor Fubara.
