The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC)has alleged that the embattled former Governor of Kogi, Yahaya Bello, expended state funds to pay his child’s school fees.
EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, disclosed this startling revelation concerning the ex governor.
It came to light that Bello had withdrawn a substantial sum of $720,000 from Kogi state’s treasury, funneling it through a bureau de change with the intention of paying his child’s school fees in advance.
This move occurred just before Bello’s tenure concluded, showcasing a concerning misuse of public funds.
According to Olukoyede, despite the EFCC’s attempts to engage Bello in a cooperative dialogue to shed light on the matter, he opted to rebuff their efforts.
