Nigeria Enhances Airport Security With Electronic Gates

Kindly share this story

The Nigerian Government has made a significant step towards enhancing national security by implementing electronic gates across all international airports.

As stated by Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, this measure aims to identify and flag unwanted individuals or those of interest, thus bolstering security protocols.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo underscored this development during an inspection at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, alongside a visit to the Command and Control Centre at the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) headquarters.

The minister emphasised that the electronic gates will be deployed at all international airport arrival points nationwide. He said the initiative aligns with President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s vision to restore public confidence in the government, as part of the Renewed Hope agenda.
