Kindly share this story

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has given his approval to adjust the closing hours for civil servants during the Ramadan fasting period.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by Isma’il Ibn Garam, the Overseeing Director of Establishments for the Head of Civil Service, civil servants will now conclude their workdays at 3 pm from Mondays to Thursdays, and at 1 pm on Fridays, throughout the fasting period.

The governor’s directive aims to accommodate Muslim civil servants in observing the sacred practices of Ramadan and allowing them ample time for worship. The statement further urged civil servants to utilize this holy month to pray for the prosperity and progress of both the state and the nation as a whole.

In a related development, Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Sokoto, has announced the approval of a special Ramadan gift for all civil servants, including primary school teachers, local government staff, and pensioners in the state. This gesture, aimed at ensuring a comfortable start to the Ramadan fast, entails the payment of half of their salaries.

Governor Sokoto emphasized the importance of utilizing the sacred month for prayers, seeking divine intervention in Nigeria’s challenges, and urged traders and affluent individuals to exhibit compassion towards the less fortunate, in line with the spirit of Ramadan.

Expressing gratitude for the support and prayers of the people, Governor Sokoto attributed the state’s successes to their continued backing and devout prayers.
