The Edo House of Assembly has commenced impeachment proceedings against deputy governor, Philip Shaibu, citing perjury and revealing of government’s top secrets as basis for the petition.
The majority leader of the Assembly and member representing Ovia North East 1, Hon. Charity Aiguobarueghian, announced this during yesterday’s sitting.
Hon. Charity stated that the petition against the deputy governor which dated March 5, 2024 was endorsed by 21 out of the 24 lawmakers.
