17th December 2024
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presentation of the 2025 Appropriation Bill to the National Assembly has been rescheduled to Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, confirmed the shift following the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting chaired by President Tinubu.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio had earlier announced that the budget presentation would take place on Tuesday, December 17. However, sources within the National Assembly cited unspecified reasons for the postponement.
Observers noted minimal signs of preparation for the president’s visit, aside from additional State House security vehicles. A lawmaker, who initially confirmed Tuesday’s schedule, later shared updates indicating the shift to Wednesday.
A circular sent to relevant committees further confirmed the change. President Tinubu is expected to present a ₦47.9 trillion budget proposal during the joint session.
