Oba Kayode Adenekan Afolabi, the Alapomu of Apomu, has denied allegations of inciting electoral violence in Osun State. In a statement signed by his media aide, Tolu Adetunji, the monarch described the allegation as false and fabricated.
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a statement had urged the Inspector-General of Police to investigate the Alapomu of Apomu, following alleged comments inciting rancor between the PDP and APC during the 2023 elections.
In a trending audio-visual recording, the Alapomu reportedly made comments regarding the election race.
Reacting to the development, the Monarch said his attention has been drawn to the trending video clip where he made a speech at the flag of a road construction project in Apomu.
Oba Kayode Adenekan Afolabi said he never urged members of PDP to attack supporters of APC in the forthcoming 2027 election as alleged about the video.
He noted that there was no where in the said video that he mentioned 2027 election or APC. ,”The allegation is false and fabricated. I am a man of peace. I do not encourage or support violence in any form or manner,”he stated.
