The Osun State House of Assembly took a significant step towards improving access to justice yesterday, as the Osun State Multi-Door Court House (Establishment) Bill, 2023, underwent its second reading. This development was announced by Speaker Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun via social media [3).
The proposed legislation aims to integrate Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms into the state’s justice system, alleviating the burden on traditional courts and ensuring timely and effective justice for citizens. The multi-door court house will offer various dispute resolution options, including mediation, arbitration and conciliation.
According to the Speaker, this initiative aligns with global best practices in judicial administration, promoting efficient and effective dispute resolution.
