PROFILES OF NIGERIA’S NEW MINISTERS-DESIGNATE

Here are the profiles of Nigeria’s new ministers-designate:

1. Dr. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda – Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction-

Dr. Yilwatda was born on August 8, 1968, in Dungung, Kanke Local Government, Plateau State. He holds a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and has a Master’s and PhD in Digital Systems Engineering. He was the Plateau State governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last election.

2. Mohammed Maigari Dingyadi – Minister of Labour and Employment-

Born in 1953 in Dingyadi, Sokoto State, Dingyadi graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1978. He represented Bodinga Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives and served as Secretary to the Sokoto State Government and Chairman of the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) Abuja.

3. Bianca Odinakachukwu Olivia Odumegwu-Ojukwu – Minister of State for Foreign Affairs-

Born on August 5, 1968, Odumegwu-Ojukwu is a politician, diplomat, lawyer, businesswoman, and former beauty queen. She holds a master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from Alfonso X el Sabio University in Spain and has served as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Ghana and Spain.

4. Dr. Jumoke Oduwole – Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment-

Dr. Oduwole is an academic and former government adviser. She holds a doctorate degree in International Trade and Development from Stanford Law School and has served as Special Adviser to President Buhari on Ease of Doing Business.

5. Mukhtar Maiha – Minister of Livestock Development-

Maiha is the Managing Director of Zaidi Farms Limited.

6. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata – Minister of Housing and Urban Development-

Ata was born on June 22, 1962, in Fagge Local Government, Kano State. He holds a degree in Economics from Bayero University, Kano, and has served as Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly.

7. Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad – Minister of State for Education-

Dr. Ahmad is a trained educationist, gender advocate, and consultant. She has participated in funded researches for the British Council and other organizations.
