PDP Governors met in Abuja on Tuesday over the recent crisis rocking the party.
The meeting was held at the lodge of the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed. Other governors present include Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State, and Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State. Members of the PDP National Working Committee, the Board of Trustees (BoT) as well as other prominent members of the party are also present.
Recall that issues about having a substantive chairman for the party, the convening of a national executive committee meeting, and preparations for the forthcoming Ondo state governorship election have dominated discussions in some of their recent meetings of the party. With barely 24 hours to the planned National Executive Committee meeting on Thursday, PDP governors and other party bigwigs are further divided over the fate of the party’s acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, who many predicted could be asked to step down.
