Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has sworn in the newly elected council chairmen of the 23 local government areas.
Governor Fubara has said although, his party, the People’s Democratic Party, did not participate in the just concluded local government poll, he had to ensure that the rule of law prevails for Rivers communities to benefit from the ongoing development in the state. He stated this during the swearing in ceremony of the local government chairmen who emerged winners at the October 5th local council elections in the state. OIFM reports.
The event was graced by Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, Governor of Bauchi State and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, who was in attendance to show his support.
