DANGOTE REFINERY DISPUTES NNPC’S CLAIM ON PETROL PRICE

Kindly share this story

Dangote Refinery has refuted the claim made by NNPC Limited that it purchased petrol from the refinery at N898 per litre. In a statement, Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, described the claim as “misleading and mischievous”.

The company clarified that the statement attributed to NNPC’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, was inaccurate and aimed at undermining the significant achievement of addressing energy insufficiency and insecurity.

Dangote emphasized that the pricing of their product will be formally announced by the Technical Sub-Committee on Naira-based crude sales to local refineries, appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commencing on October 1, 2024.

The company highlighted that their current stock of crude was procured in dollars and sold to NNPC in dollars, resulting in significant savings. Dangote assured Nigerians of the availability of quality petroleum products and an end to fuel scarcity, ensuring petrol is accessible in every local government area.
