In a bid to avert a potential strike in public universities, the Federal Government has established a committee to engage with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on pressing issues driving the union’s threat of industrial action.
The committee, set up by the Minister of Education, Mr. Tahir Mamman, is scheduled to meet with ASUU representatives tomorrow to address the union’s concerns.
This development follows a previous meeting between the government and ASUU last week, where key issues were discussed. ASUU Vice President, Professor Chris Piwuna, confirmed the upcoming meeting, emphasizing the union’s commitment to finding a resolution.
