The Department of State Services, DSS has released the national president of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Joe Ajaero.
Mr Ajaero said the secret police allowed him to go home around past 11pm on Monday, which was a few minutes before the 12-midnight ultimatum issued by the organised labour. The NLC president said he was grilled for about 15 hours since his arrest around 7am at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. He, however, said his travel passport was seized by the secret police.
The NLC president was billed to attend the Trade Union Congress conference in London, which begins today. His arrest was widely criticised.
