Kindly share this story

The Organised Labour says there is no going back on its demand for N250,000 national minimum wage.

President, Trade Union Congress, Festus Osifo, insists that the benchmark remains the ideal minimum wage for workers in Nigeria.

He spoke at the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Women Commission maiden Annual Convention in Abuja.

Osifo also stated that TUC and the Nigeria Labour Congress were meeting with officials of the Federal Government to reach an agreement on the minimum wage.

He said that Labour was working hard to ensure that discussion on the new national minimum wage does not linger nor drag for too long.

According to him, the fact that they were not talking in the media does not mean that the matter is dead, adding that they are doing some level of internal work so that the bill will be submitted in earnest.
