Residents of Ila-Orangun town in Osun State have again demanded improved power supply from the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC).
The residents, during an online interactive session hosted by Orisun Igbomina 102.1FM on Saturday, expressed their frustration with the persistent power outages and erratic supply, which have affected businesses, homes, and livelihoods.
“I feel prominent individuals in Ila need to call IBEDC to order. The people should not be pushed to the wall before something concrete is done.
” We urge IBEDC to take immediate action to upgrade their infrastructure and provide reliable power supply,” a resident commented . “We believe it is their responsibility to ensure uninterrupted power supply, and we will hold them accountable,” another indigene noted.
The participants also tasked stakeholders across the ancient town to join forces to put IBEDC on its toes to ensure improved power supply, regular maintenance of electricity distribution installations, and effective communication.
The effort of the lawmaker representing Ila Federal Constituency, Hon. Akanni Olohunwa, towards addressing the challenge, was also highlighted during the audience participatory programme.
