The lawmaker representing Ila Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Dhikrullahi Akinloye Bajepade, hosted a Children’s Day programme on Monday, 27th May 2024.
The glamorous event, held at the Saint Matthew Primary School complex in the Isedo area of Ila-Orangun town, brought together hundreds of children from across the constituency.
According to the parliamentarian, the programme was initiated to celebrate the joy and innocence of childhood while highlighting the importance of investing in children’s education, health, and well-being.
The event featured various activities, including:
– A keynote address by the Lawmaker, emphasizing the need for collective efforts in shaping the future of children
– A quiz competition, where students from local schools showcased their knowledge and skills
– A match past session
– A cultural display, featuring traditional music, dance, and drama performances
– A distribution of educational materials, including books, calculators,stationery and bags .
Hon. Bajepade stated, “As a representative of the people, it is my duty to ensure that our children receive the necessary support and resources to thrive. This programme is a small gesture towards that goal.”
The event was attended by parents, teachers, community leaders, and local government officials, who all praised the lawmaker’s initiative in organizing the programme.
