Orangun, Bajepade, Others Observe Eid-El-Fitr Prayers In Ila-Orangun

Muslims in Ila-Orangun town, Osun State joined their counterparts worldwide on Wednesday to mark Eid-El-Fitr, signalling the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The paramount ruler of Ila-Orangun kingdom, HRM Oba Abdulwahab Oyedotun joined other Muslim faithful at the Central Muslim prayer ground in the ancient town to mark the yearly event.

Some of the dignitaries who observed the Eid-El-Fitr procession with the royal father include the member representing Ila Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Bajepade Sikiru Akinloye;Provost of Osun State College of Education in Ila,Alhaji Dr Abdulazeez Jimoh;

Chairman of Ila Muslim Community, Alhaji Bello Sulaiman Akindele, among others.

The Chief Imam of Ila-Orangun,Shiekh Salaudeen Abdul Hameed, in his sermon, said that Ramadan promotes a culture of sacrifice, unity and tolerance among Muslims across the world.

Speaking to Orisun Igbomina 102.1FM shortly after the prayers, Hon. Bajepade highlighted the significance of reflection, charity, and compassion after the special month, as outlined in the holy Quran.

He also called on all inhabitants of Ila-Orangun to pray for the continued development and growth of Osun State.

Other dignitaries who spoke to OIFM reporters shortly after the event, also called for forgiveness, peace and harmony among Nigerians.
