The Chairman of Orisun Igbomina Broadcasting Network(OIBN), Comrade Ayodele Agboola, has joined members of the Mass Communication Alumni of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Osun State, (MAOS)to mourn a former student of the institution, Segun Oguntuase.

Segun Oguntuase passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024, in the United Kingdom (UK) after a brief illness.

He served as National General Secretary of MAOS from 2015 to 2018, and was a dedicated and committed member of the diaspora chapter of the old students’ association.

In a condolence message issued on Sunday morning, Comrade Ayodele Agboola said “it hurts to the bone to lose such a vibrant soul.

“Of what use are words at a time like this? Oguntuase and I shared countless memorable moments together during and after our academic years at the Mass Communication Department of OSPOLY.

“Until his death, he was well known for his active drive in inspiring and creating opportunities for others.

“We have just lost one of the brightest minds of our generation, someone committed to developing our society.

“I pray for strength and calm for those who knew and loved him dearly. We must carry on his memory and good deeds,” the media entrepreneur added.

The National President of MAOS, Adekunle Sikiru, in a statement earlier today announced a 3-day mourning and suspension of the association’s online activities, starting from Sunday till Tuesday evening, in honor of the deceased.

President Adekunle Sikiru further described Oguntuase’s demise as a great loss, not only to his family and friends, but also to all members of MAOS.

Several alumni of the institution and friends also expressed sadness over the incident.

“Segun Oguntuase’s death is the most sudden and least expected news. It emphasizes the ephemerality of life. His death broke a lot of us and I don’t think anything can fill the vacuum he left for us,” an alumnus, Sanya Ogunjobi, stated in a chat with OIFM correspondents.

Oguntuase is survived by his wife, children, mother and relatives.
