The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, and the Non-Academic Staff Union, NASU, have announced a 7-day warning strike starting on March 18 to demand the payment of four months of withheld salaries for their members.
The decision was reached during a meeting of the joint action committee of the two unions held in Akure, Ondo State, over the weekend.
President of SSANU, Mohammed Ibrahim, told reporters in Abuja today that the warning strike became necessary after attempts to engage with the Federal Government failed to yield results.
